Feeling fragile? It’s what is on the inside that counts

If you are feeling fragile today I want to encourage you that this is perfectly normal.

We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. (2 Corinthians 4.7)

I was looking for an image to go with this verse and I came across a picture to which I added the words to make the image in this post.

Looking at the lamp really helped me to understand what the Bible is saying more clearly. Although it is fragile, it can still contain the oil that is needed to keep the flame alive.

Even if you feel fragile you are still able to contain the treasure  of the all-surpassing power of God. It really is what is on the inside that counts!

Are we conscious of God’s presence in us? Are we drawing on his strength and power in these testing times or are we trying to cope alone?

About honestaboutmyfaith

Hi, my name is Graeme and I’m married to a very patient wife. We have 4 children, 2 rabbits, a terrapin (and not a lot of peace and quiet!). I’m a Regional Minister for the Eastern Baptist Association in the UK (the views expressed in this blog are my own) and I am especially interested in making Church accessible to people who have no church background and also in how we disciple people in order to equip them to live out their faith in the 21st Century.
