When people seem disturbed that I might not be available to work for the church on my day off I say,
If I am unavailable you could always try God.
Makes you think doesn’t it.
I wonder who or what our confidence is really in?
If our confidence is in people and not God then we really are in trouble!

About honestaboutmyfaith
Hi, my name is Graeme and I’m married to a very patient wife. We have 4 children, 2 rabbits, a terrapin (and not a lot of peace and quiet!). I’m a Regional Minister for the Eastern Baptist Association in the UK (the views expressed in this blog are my own) and I am especially interested in making Church accessible to people who have no church background and also in how we disciple people in order to equip them to live out their faith in the 21st Century.
At ourAll Age Service on Sunday we looked at Gideon. Even the Midianites realised that although they had the bigger army, they were going to lose because Gideon had the bigger God!

Thanks Kathryn 🙂
This makes it even more crazy that we put our confidence in people rather than God! He is so big and powerful, why would we try and cope without him?
