You may find this surprising, but in the UK we spent more on lottery tickets in an average 6 day period than we gave to Red Nose Day in 2013! #rednoseday
If you are living in the UK, then you will have noticed that it is Red Nose Day.
In 2013 Red Nose Day raised just over 100 million (£100,331,808 if you want to be precise) source.
Doesn’t that huge amount of money make you proud to be British?
I thank God for the amazing good that has been done with that money.
In the same period, the population of the UK was 64.1 million source. In other words, if everyone in the Uk gave an equal amount to Red Nose Day then we all gave around £2 each. That doesn’t make you quite so proud to be British does it?
To be fair, you have to take into account that some of the 64 million population are children who don’t have money to give and also that many people may give to other charities but not to Red Nose…
