If you are feeling Brokenhearted, you are Not Alone

During our times of greatest pain, when we feel brokenhearted, we often feel isolated and alone. In these moments, God wants to remind us that he is close to us and that we are never alone:

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34.18)

So many of us are struggling at this time for a whole variety of reasons. It’s good for us if we can be honest about this and if we can also reach out to others for support, help and encouragement.

If you are feeling brokenhearted or like your Spirit has been crushed then God especially wants you to know that he is close to you and that he wants to comfort and help you.

God may be close but we still need to call on him and this requires us to admit that we really are not okay. It’s necessary to have these moments of honesty before we can begin to receive God’s healing.

As we cry out to God, he will meet us in our pain offering love, comfort, support and his presence – that he will never leave or forsake us.

May we each know God’s closeness and be open to receiving his help and healing during these difficult times.

About honestaboutmyfaith

Hi, my name is Graeme and I’m married to a very patient wife. We have 4 children, 2 rabbits, a terrapin (and not a lot of peace and quiet!). I’m a Regional Minister for the Eastern Baptist Association in the UK (the views expressed in this blog are my own) and I am especially interested in making Church accessible to people who have no church background and also in how we disciple people in order to equip them to live out their faith in the 21st Century.
