Are You Ready for Black Sunday?

On Black Friday, lots of people head to the shops so I figured that I would call today Black Sunday to inspire people to go to church.

On Black Friday, shoppers desperately try to save money by err… spending money that they otherwise wouldn’t have spent.

On Black Friday, people hunt for bargains to make them feel good. The bargains aren’t often for necessities, they are generally things that we might want but they aren’t often things that we can say we need.

On Black Sunday I hope that we can pause and consider God.

God may or may not be what you think you want, but I believe with all of my heart that God is who you need because ultimate meaning and fulfillment are found in him.

How about you, will you join the mad rush this Black Sunday and head to church in your search for meaning and fulfillment?

About honestaboutmyfaith

Hi, my name is Graeme and I’m married to a very patient wife. We have 4 children, 2 rabbits, a terrapin (and not a lot of peace and quiet!). I’m a Regional Minister for the Eastern Baptist Association in the UK (the views expressed in this blog are my own) and I am especially interested in making Church accessible to people who have no church background and also in how we disciple people in order to equip them to live out their faith in the 21st Century.
