The One About Star Prayers

We used a star prayer activity at church last week.

Every person was given a paper star and we were all invited to write a prayer on each side of it

On one side we were to write something about God, his greatness or some other praise for him.

On the other side we were to write something that we were asking God to do, a miracle, a simple answer to prayer or perhaps something we were really struggling with.

star-prayer-post-itsEveryone who felt able to was then given the opportunity to pin their star prayers on a board with the prayer of praise visible.

As a consequence these stars now remind us of God’s glory.

The prayers on the other side are turned away from us and towards God as a sign that we trust in him to act in that situation.

Hi, my name is Graeme and I’m married to a very patient wife. We have 4 children, 2 rabbits, a terrapin (and not a lot of peace and quiet!). I’m a Baptist Minister and I am especially interested in making Church accessible to people who have no church background and also in how we disciple people in order to equip them to live out their faith in the 21st Century.
