Do you ever get that sinking feeling?

Inflated and deflatedDo you ever get that sinking feeling? This was the experience of most of the balloons that we brought home yesterday. When we went to bed they were all floating but in the morning only one had enough helium left to keep it afloat.

This picture of balloons is a reminder of what life is like. Sometimes we feel on top of the world whilst at other times we can feel completely deflated.

The answer for the balloons is to fill them with more helium, but what about us?

What refills us when we feel deflated?

Christians believe that God’s presence can live within us and that we can call on him to fill us at any time.

Next time you feel deflated, I hope that you ask God to fill you and to lift you up.

God’s presence doesn’t just make us feel better in the moment. God actually wants to transform us so that we can become the people who he created us with the potential to be.

About honestaboutmyfaith

Hi, my name is Graeme and I’m married to a very patient wife. We have 4 children, 2 rabbits, a terrapin (and not a lot of peace and quiet!). I’m a Baptist Minister who is especially interested in making Church accessible to people who have no church background and also in how we disciple people in order to equip them to live out their faith in the 21st Century. I am also a member of the Eastern Baptist Association's Council with responsibility for Mission Strategy.
