An Encounter with God is better than an Explanation about Him

follow jesus twitterSadly, many Christians think that evangelism is primarily about passing on information about Jesus but it is so much more.

I want people who don’t know Jesus yet to,

Encounter him rather than just to hear an Explanation about him.

Talk with him for themselves rather than just to be Told what he is like.

Meet him for themselves rather than just going to a Meeting where they can hear about him.

The Christian faith is about knowing Jesus, not just knowing about him. What would it look like if we changed our evangelistic emphasis and methods to reflect this?

How can we help people to talk with and encounter Jesus for themselves?

How can we make this thing called prayer more normal? How can it become the conversation between people and God that God wants it to be?

Perhaps you are reading this and you don’t know Jesus yet. Why not talk with him now?

Jesus so wants to know us that he sacrificed himself on the cross to make it possible (you can read about that here).

You can know Jesus, the living God too. What is stopping you?

About honestaboutmyfaith

Hi, my name is Graeme and I’m married to a very patient wife. We have 4 children, 2 rabbits, a terrapin (and not a lot of peace and quiet!). I’m a Regional Minister for the Eastern Baptist Association in the UK (the views expressed in this blog are my own) and I am especially interested in making Church accessible to people who have no church background and also in how we disciple people in order to equip them to live out their faith in the 21st Century.
