I need my Mummy

mums smarterAll the other children were heading out to their own groups, but Sophia ran back into the church shouting ‘I need my mummy’.

Remarkably, Sophia’s mum managed to play the keyboard and look after her toddler for the rest of the service. She is a remarkably talented musician and mother!

During my sermon I was talking about our need of God and it occurred to me that often we try to live our lives without him which is sad.

Sophia provided the perfect illustration, she was desperate to be with her mum and she wasn’t ashamed to let us all know.

We all have so much to learn from Sophia!

How desperate are we for God? Do we want to be with him? Do we want to share our lives with and be led by him?

About honestaboutmyfaith

Hi, my name is Graeme and I’m married to a very patient wife. We have 4 children, 2 rabbits, a terrapin (and not a lot of peace and quiet!). I’m a Regional Minister for the Eastern Baptist Association in the UK (the views expressed in this blog are my own) and I am especially interested in making Church accessible to people who have no church background and also in how we disciple people in order to equip them to live out their faith in the 21st Century.
