A Real Star, Sent With Love

Jesus sent with loveAt a Christmas event today, we provided people with cards that said ‘with love’ and also nativity stickers. There were some fairly impressive cards, but this one was my favourite.

The aim of the activity was to help people to appreciate that Jesus is God’s gift to the world and that he was sent with love. It cost God so much to send Jesus (you can read more about that here) but he sent him anyway.

The second thing that struck me about the card was the word ‘star’. It’s possible that the person who made this card just wrote it next to the star sticker, but what struck me was that Jesus is an absolute star! You see, God sent his son but Jesus chose to come.

Jesus (the name means saviour) came to bring light and hope into the world. He came to rescue us by offering us freedom from sin and death and the opportunity to know God now and forever.

I hope that you have a great Christmas and that you will realize juts how important that Christ is to Christmas and in fact to the whole of life.

Jesus Christ, a real star sent with love from our loving heavenly father.
