Jesus said that a good parent wouldn’t give their child a snake if they had been asked for a fish and that they wouldn’t give a scorpion if they had been asked for an egg. He then went on to say that if people ‘‘know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him’. (Luke 11.11-13)
God, our heavenly father only gives treats, he doesn’t play tricks. He loves us and when we ask him for a gift, he gives his best. The Holy Spirit is the presence of God who will live in us and be at work around us.
So, if you are really into trick or treating, then try God today and receive the ultimate treat that is God’s presence.
God wants to be our father and he wants us to know that we are loved, now that is a real treat.
