What do you think it is of?
My wife and I came across it whilst on a walk recently and it took us a few moments to work out what it was.

The truth is that we don’t 100% know what it is because there was no sign but when you look at it in the context of this second picture then it looks like it is an attempt at a basic bird hide.
At first, I thought that it looked pretty pathetic and I wondered if it is what a baby bird hide looks like. Was it looking forward to the day when it grows up to become a proper hide?
It doesn’t look like what I expect a bird hide to be but when you think about it, it will do what it is designed for. You can sit on the bench and watch the birds whilst you hide from them behind the screen.
I wonder how many of us are like this basic bird hide?
- We may not feel that we look quite right
- We may not feel good or clever enough
- We think almost everyone is better than us
We were walking around 8 miles on our walk and a mile or two after we had gone past this hide, we really wanted to find a bench but there wasn’t one to be found anywhere along the route.
I had looked down on this pathetic looking, small and simple bird hide but it was just what I needed.
No matter what you think of yourself, the truth is that you are amazing. The human body is miraculous in the way it works, it is designed in such a clever way and it is wonderfully made. You are a walking miracle!
We can all make such a difference to the lives of others but first we have to believe in ourselves. The Bible says that we are made in the image/likeness of God which gives us immense value.
We needed a bench but couldn’t find one and there are people in the world that need you but will you be available to bless them?

Honest about my faith 
Bird hide WAS the first thing that came to my mind. Good point – it DOES look scruffy and hastily built, but it looks like it does the job it was designed for!
