The one about the Head Teachers Award

DSCF1007So, I finished a school assembly and the staff were handing out stickers and certificates for achievements. I like seeing children praised, especially when it’s for things that were challenging or hard for them.

As I was about to leave, one of the people who was handing out the stickers gave one to me for a good assembly.

How good is that?

I have worn my sticker all day and have told people about the schools kindness. It is nice when people affirm and encourage you in what you are doing and this blessed me today when I was suffering with a fairly painful sinus headache.

It would make me sad if I thought that most of us only say really nice things about people at their funerals. More than once I’ve heard someone say at a funeral, ‘I wish I had told them what they meant to me’.

Who can you encourage today?

DSCF1010Life can be pretty miserable and we all need cheering up. It’s good to be reminded of what we are good at and it’s good to be reminded that we are loved and valued.

It’s so easy to encourage someone, just by saying so or by sending  text or a simple card.

So, who can you encourage today?

More importantly, who will you encourage today?

About honestaboutmyfaith

Hi, my name is Graeme and I’m married to a very patient wife. We have 4 children, 2 rabbits, a terrapin (and not a lot of peace and quiet!). I’m a Regional Minister for the Eastern Baptist Association in the UK (the views expressed in this blog are my own) and I am especially interested in making Church accessible to people who have no church background and also in how we disciple people in order to equip them to live out their faith in the 21st Century.
